I think I have solved the problem of bad hair days. Seriously, I had an entire week of good hair days in a row last week. Also, while people (namely Kathryn) have been telling me for years how bad cheap hair shampoos and conditioners are such as the Herbal Essences I keep in my shower are for my hair, and I think I have only just sat up and taken notice about how the plastic and chemical deposits they leave on your hair are really not good for it. How did my hair literally change for the better in a week? Because I started using Alterna's brand new shampoo and conditioner editions to their Caviar range every day; Repair Rx.
Alterna Caviar Repair Rx Instant Recovery Shampoo c/o Alterna: £28.46 / $32, Alterna Caviar Repair Rx Instant Recovery Conditioner c/o Alterna: £28.46 / $32
As for the basic conditions of a good shampoo and conditioner these tick all the boxes; they smell good, the shampoo is thick and foams up really well and the conditioner is thick and luxurious. Your hair feels healthy and strong as you rince out the conditioner (which I comb in and leave for as long as possible) and when my hair has dried it feels like I have salon hair. On the days when I know I'm not going to be leaving my apartment so I've tried to conserve expensive shampoo (it is now a problem that I know I won't be able to afford nothing but this in my shower every day) I've gone back to using Herbal Essences the night before I've really noticed the difference. As for being a repair range, I am certainly noticing I have less split ends and my hair is stronger than before, especially used in conjunction with the masque and the leave in cream that are also part of the range (reviews to follow), in comparison to Alterna's straight up Caviar shampoo and conditioner which I reviewed in December.
While I knew I was going to love the shampoo and conditioner from the new range anyway (I've found that all of Alterna's hair products are better than any other brand I have tried) I was blown away with how badly I've fallen in love with this duo. My next stop will be Bumble and bumble's Creme de Coco which I tried in the salon when I had my hair cut as it is slightly cheaper, but there is no way that this Alterna duo is not going to find its way onto my Christmas list or into my shopping basket when I need to treat myself.
Are there any hair of beauty products you think are incredible, but you just can't stretch your budget to?
