Product Review: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last month or so (in this weather I don’t blame you) you will have heard about Rimmel’s latest phenomena: Apocalips. This lip lacquer is a highly pigmented lipstick with the shine of a lip gloss - what could be better? - So when I headed into my local Boots I decided to pick one up to give it a try. I picked mine up in the colour 'Nova'; it is a lovely intense pink. I am known for being a fan of bright lipsticks; however, I hate all the faffing and just the whole maintenance side of wearing a bright lip day to day, so if you are like me this product is for you.

The formula gives a lovely pop of colour without having to worry about it bleeding or needing a mirror to reapply. The formula is really smooth and does not try your lips like a lipgloss can, and nor does it create really sticky lips that leave it impossible to open your mouth. I was also impressed with the staying power of this product; I managed to drink a whole glass of wine and eat lunch without the product disappearing completely or being spread around my mouth.

Overall I think this product means we will no longer have to choose between having a bright lip or an extra bit of time in bed. This product comes in some lovely shades and I can’t wait to buy a few more. Also if you are not sold already, have I said that the product smells really lovely? Personally I think it is sort of like Watermelon.
