Product Review: Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation

I've actually been wearing samples of this foundation for about a month, and I've been looking forward to posting about it ever since I got a full size bottle from my parents on my birthday. Now, this is actually my first ever foundation. I still don't really use it every day, preferring powder and primer, or just powder, or just concealer, but I have found that foundation is both perfect for making my makeup stay fresh and looking like I've just done it all day, even through the long, sweaty days of London Fashion Week, and I have also discovered my complexion looks much better in photos when I'm wearing it too. (Though, you must beware that if you are wearing a foundation containing SPF it will appear a shade lighter in photos if you are using a camera flash).

After reading some of my favourite beauty blogs and chatting to some of my favourite beauty bloggers I'd found that an overwhelming number of them suggested either Jemma Kidd's Light As Air formula (which I was down with trying since falling in love with my Jemma Kidd eyeshadow pallette), but that would have involved hiking over to Covent Garden to go to Space NK to try, so I opted to head over to the Chanel counter in John Lewis, Westfield Stratford City where the ladies were so wonderful and helpful, to try Perfection Lumiere, the other foundation that overwhelming numbers had recommend to both me personally and to their readers en mass.

It was at the counter, and while I walked around the shopping centre afterwards I fell in love. I loved how 12 Beige Rose was the perfect pale colour match, not an easy thing to achieve on my super pale skin, it glided on so easily, and that it felt so weightless and I quickly forgot that I was wearing any makeup at all. Initially they gave me a couple of samples away with me, and over the next few days I marvelled at how long lasting it was and how it helped my makeup stay perfect and flawless all day long, even as I was testing it during London Fashion Week!

I know £36 is more than a little bit pricy for your makeup bag, but if you can afford to splurge a little I really think it is an investment. While you can change up eyeshadows, bronzers and blushers depending on your mood and fashions, your foundation is your base and having the wrong or a bad foundation really can ruin your whole look. Also, I'm pretty sure that this bottle is going to last me for absolutely ages. I'm also looking into investing in their primer and in their pressed powder compact.

Have any of you tried Chanel's Perfection Lumiere Foundation? What is your go to foundation?

  4. Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this blog. It's simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it's very hard to get that "perfect balance" between usability and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a superb
job with this. Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Chrome.

    Excellent Blog!

I've had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Many thanks!

  6. Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup.

Do you have any solutions to stop hackers?
